For Families and Children
The Southshore Outreach Resource Centres are drop in centres offering programs for families with children from ages 0 – 6 years.
Our centres help to support families by offering chances for children to socialize with other children, and gives parents the opportunity to meet other families. Our playgroups are set up with areas to provide an opportunity for your child to paint, use play dough, build with blocks, imaginary and dress up play and have fun. Each playgroup consists of playtime, singing songs and sharing at Circle Time, and a healthy snack.

Benoit’s Cove Centre
Playgroups are held at the Town Hall in Benoit’s Cove on Mondays and Wednesdays
Programs include:
- Kindergarten readiness program for four year olds called “Pre-Kindergarten”
- Sessions for the children that focus on various developmental and
social areas such as music, gross motor, cooking, art etc. - a Toy Lending Library that families can borrow toys and books for their children.
- Information sessions to our parents related to various topics of interest.
York Harbour Centre
Playgroups are held at the Fire Hall in York Harbour on Mondays and Wednesdays
Programs include:
